A car and a motorcycle collide on the shoulder of U.S. Highway 822 near Clovis Thursday morning, sending one person to the hospital.
According to Clovis police, the Clovis Fire Department and the Central California Trauma Team responded at 8:50 a.m.
Clovis police have identified the victim as Joshua D. Gress.
According to the police report, Gress was traveling east on Highway 822 in the No. 2 lane when he drifted out of the right lane of traffic. He crossed the center line and went into the No. 1 lane of Highway 822, colliding with the motorcycle of a man who was traveling west.
The report states Gress was taken to Clovis Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The motorcycle was driven by Kyle C. Hales, 31, of Clovis, according to the report. He was checked by medical personnel but did not require further treatment.
According to the report, the collision occurred at the Norco Street exit.
Two other vehicles were involved in the collision. One, an eastbound 1997 Toyota Camry driven by Rachael J. Gilmore, 39, of Clovis, sustained minor damage. The other, a 2003 Honda CR-V, driven by Mark A. Pearson, 44, of Clovis, also sustained minor damage.
Authorities said Gress was charged with one count of hit-and-run resulting in injury. Hales was charged with one count of failure to control. Both are scheduled to appear in court May 18 at 9 a.m.[Re-operation for late complications of gastric bypass].
